Sonnet of Summer
The sun has set upon the summer day.
A storm is coming soon, of that I'm sure.
The clouds have turned from white to dusty gray.
It's drizzling now, the rain so clean and pure.
But, now thunder fills the silence of the night.
To hide beneath my bed is my new plan.
Oh dear! The storm has shut off all the lights!
I'm the sure the lightning will strike me if it can.
The storm is over, now the world is new.
The grass is wet beneath my naked feet.
I realize I may not have made it through.
A tornado is a difficult thing to beat.
