Untitled

she dances on the winter wind
no morals hold her here
her time is free and pure and fun
she holds life's pleasures dear
she moves in ways not understood
could you try and mimic her?
she sees no end to the horizon
there is nothing left to limit her
the birds all sing her joyous praise
they think her brave to dare
they know she laughs in spite of god
they see she is aware
the trees try hard to hold her back
they grasp at her silken gown
they disapprove of her silly ways,
their roots stuck hard in the ground
the grass grows lush to shield her feet
they protect her from the sand
and if she were to hurt herself,
they'd be there where she lands
at night, the stars will light her way
the moon smiles down upon her
and the morning dawn will wake her up
by shining all around her
she never cares which way to go
I don't think she knows how
she never thinks of future or past
or even the here and now
the snow falls softly to the ground
trying hard to bring a chill
too bad it doesn't realize
the power of her will
she doesn't speak a language
and yet she speaks them all
a touch, a kiss, a smile,
she can make a strong man fall
she's never there for very long
a sprite in its own essence
but when she's there, you feel so light
that's the power of her presence
if one desired to meet her
they'd never see her 'round
for if she doesn't want it,
she never can be found
she slides down every rainbow,
a cloud is where she sleeps
and when it's raining, then you know
that is when she weeps
she is a girl of innocence
she is a girl of pride
this girl, this lass, this damsel
is me, deep down inside
